This message has been edited by bruce hazelton on 03-16-2006 at 06:24 PM heres how I do it: make sure it is resized... I usually make it 600 pixels X 600 pixels largest, usually plug in the 600 and it will automaticly resize the other dimension. do your post, type in whatever text you want....then click on the paperclip like you are doing an attachment... click on Browze... go into Desktop and double click the picture you want to post... the info appears in the Browze line ... click Upload Now.... it will bring up a line of characters that begin with highlite this code and right click to "copy" close the upload window... go to you posting and "paste" it into the body of your message hit submit and your done... resizing it to be small is the critical part... to "shrink" the file: open the picture you want to post in microsoft paint (right click on the picture and use the open with tab and you should see the option to open it with whatever paint shop you have) and "save as". the file will be about half the size . I usually just save over the old file but if you dont want to do that make sure you change at least one letter or number in the file name. Good Luck This message has been edited by RED5 on 03-16-2006 at 07:07 PM Well I followed your directions, looks like it is going to work. ------------------ ------------------ ------------------ Even if the photo is already in jpg format, saving it using "Paint" reduces the size of the file automatically. Good luck. I believe it must be under 500,000 bytes. I have adobe photo shop that came with my computer. It sizes by inches and set at resolution at 72 and a 6" max and auto set on other usually 4" on my pictures it come out under 500K also you CANNOT have any spaces in the file name... Correct.......WildCat will not work........Wild Cat Once you figure it out it is super easy. Until then what a pain in the but ------------------ This message has been edited by BeWare on 03-19-2006 at 08:48 AM ------------------bruce hazelton
Boy, thats too big!!!!! Now to find out how to make it smaller.Howard Try again. halicat try this:
I save the picture that I want to post on my desktop.
[img] and end with [img]...RED5 in case you are talking about the size of the file and not the pixel size of the pic..... Piddler halicat
I guess I going to learn something new.
I'm going to try it your way.
I didn't know you could post a picture off your computer
without it having a "host" webb address.
Looks like this site is going to host it.
I go to other boards that you can load pictures from your
computer, but didn't know you could do it here.
I am going to have to copy and paste the address, it want
let me just click it in.
OK, here goes.
Thanks halicat, it is going to work.
Check Out My Scrapbook halicat i struggled for a while untill i figured out that my pictures were to large, once i resized them everything went smoothly.. softns49
here we go againTom Santella I have trouble resizing my pics??!!! What I be doin wrong?
BackinBlackhalicat download this free program... it will allow you to resize your pictures...
http://picasa.google.ca/ Bob Miller If your photo is too big to download here, then go to the photo file and right click on it. Click on "Open With" and choose "Paint" as the program you want to open it with. The photo will then open automatically using "Paint." Once you have it open, go to "File" and left click on "Save As" and use the same name or choose a new name and make sure the file is jpg. idive If that didnt get it small enough, you can load the pic into paint, and instead of resaving the file, click on image (up top,) then click on stretch/skew. Then STRETCH it horizontally and vertically in equal percentage increments until you get it resized how you want it. If you don't get it how you want it the first time, go to edit (up top) and undo, and start over. THEN save it as above. YOU'VE RESIZED IT! WildCat quote:
